Total (Actual cost may vary) $4,900

Will my furnace be more efficient after the conversion?

NO!
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, heating oil on average burns about 15% more efficiently than gas.  The average life expectancy of a gas furnace is 11-14 years, compared to 30 or more years of an oil furnace.
